Summary India while violating Sindh-Tas Agreement has started new project of Power House on Jhelum River.

According to documents Dunya News received, Gonto Maula Hydro Project is being constructed on Jhelum River near Ori Topen power project. In this regard, a tender was issued on 5-3-2012 and implementation on the project is underway after approval of higher authorities.The aforesaid project would generate 105 MG electricity.Pakistan had raised an objection that Ganto Maula Hydro Project could not be started as it was violation of the Sindh-Tas Agreement signed between India and Pakistan.According to stance of Pakistan, India can’t build up any power project on eastern rivers in accordance with the aforesaid agreement.According to experts, if India shows stubbornness, Pakistan would have to raise the issue with International Court for Arbitration.Indus Water Commission is of the view that Pakistan has taken back the objections leveled against Ori Topen Power Project due to which the stance of Pakistan got weak on Ganga Kishan issue.
