Summary

A former presidential candidate in 2007 has filed a petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan to try former president Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution. Dr Anwar-ul-Haq, a medical practitioner of PIMS in Islamabad, filed a petition in the court on Wednesday saying Musharraf breached the Constitution and violated Supreme Courts order by imposing emergency rule on Nov. 3, 2007. He pleaded the court to try former military ruler under Article 6 and Contempt of Court Act, suggesting that he could be brought in to the country if needed for the purpose. Meanwhile, Sibbi Session Court judge has withheld the decision till September 4 against a petition filed to register a case against former president Pervez Musharraf and former PM Shaukat Aziz of killing Nawab Akbar Bugti. The petition was filed by Nawab Jamil Bugti, son of Akbar Bugti, to register a case against Musharraf.
