PM Raja Pervez Ashraf has underscored the need for projecting soft image of Pakistan in the world.He was speaking at a briefing by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Secretary Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani briefed the Prime Minister on countrys foreign policy.The Prime minister underlined the need for interacting with the third generation of expatriate Pakistanis as they are asset for the country.He directed the Foreign Office that to focus on African countries as well because there exists immense potential of bilateral cooperation.He said the prevalence of goodwill in the continent‚ which was earned due to the successful UN Peace Keeping Mission headed by Pakistan Army‚ should be leveraged to promote Pakistans interests.The Prime Minster called upon the Ministry officials to pro-actively pursue the trade diplomacy as it has assumed greater significance in the modern diplomacy.He said Pakistans foreign policy was confronted with many challenges but expressed his confidence that the Foreign Ministry was quite capable of converting these challenges into opportunities.Earlier‚ Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar welcoming the Prime Minister said her team is endeavouring to achieve foreign policy objectives.
