The Federal Shariat Court has ordered to provide the long imprisoned prisoners with the matrimonial rights in its decision on a petition about prisoners rights and jail reforms. FSC Larger Bench headed by Chief Justice Agha Rafiq in its decision said that the death sentence prisoners should not be kept in death cells unless the rejection of the appeal against the punishment. The court observed that prisoners should have the right to appeal before jail superintendent on their complaints. The court also ordered the construction of separate barracks for the women prisoners.
