A suicide attacker and seven other suspects have been arrested during an operation jointly conducted by an intelligence agency and CID police in Karachi. DIG CID Saood Mirza informed about arrest of seven suspects during a press conference on Sunday. Saood Mirza told that 7 suspects who belonged to banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi have been arrested. The names of the arrested are following: Muhammad Aziz aka Salman, Muhammad Shahzad aka Pehalwan, Ghulam Muhammad aka Umer, Shahbaz aka Mian, Khalil Toori, Alam Zeb aka Huzaifa and Shakeel Ahmad. According to the DIG, Shahzad was involved in suicide attacks on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and former president Pervez Musharraf, whereas, other suspects have been involved in operations against security forces in Chaman and Waziristan areas. They were also involved in arms and drugs trafficking in Karachi. He said that the suspects had plans to target important government officials, intelligence agencies offices and important political figures. Large stockpiles of state of the art ammunition, suicide jackets and more than two kilograms of cocaine have been recovered from various parts of the city on information provided by the suspects.
