Summary

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik claims, the Taliban insurgents have killed Baitullah Mehsuds father in law and some other people on suspicion of their involvement in the killing of their former chief. In an interview to a British news channel, Rehman Malik said the Taliban had arrested Baitullah Mehsuds father in law Ikramuddin, his son, brother and nephew on charges of spying against the TTP chief. He said he is making the above claim on the basis of the kind of information on which he disclosed the news of the death of former chief of banned Tehree-e-Taliban Pakistan, Baitullah Mehsud. He confirmed that Baitullah Mehsud is dead and added that it can be part of a policy of the government not to confirm 100 percent the news of his death.
