Foreign Office spokesman Moazzam Ahmad Khan at weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday said that negotiations with the United States are continuing on all issues and decision would be made in accordance with the recommendations of the Parliament.While responding to a question regarding US concerns over Dr Shakeel Afridis prison sentence, Khan said that this is countrys internal matter and the United States should respect Pakistans law and courts decision.I think as far as the case of Mr. Afridi is concerned, it was in accordance with Pakistani laws and by the Pakistani courts, and we need to respect each others legal processes, Moazzam Ali Khan told reporters.Earlier, the US State Department expressed that Pakistan had no basis to hold or charge a surgeon – Dr Shakeel Afridi - who was sentenced to 33 years in prison for helping in the hunt for Osama bin Laden.The Foreign Office spokesman said there is a mutual desire on both sides (Pak-US) to normalise relations as soon as possible.We did not attend Chicago Conference with any expectations, he added saying thatPakistan has an important role to play for stability and peace in Afghanistan.
