Summary Low water outflow from Tarbela and Mangla has affected hydropower generation.
With temperatures soaring in various cities, unscheduled power cuts have added to the woes of people across the country.The lowering water levels at Tarbela and Manglad dams resulted into increased countrywide loadshedding, taking the electricity shortfall further to 6, 600 megawatts.Total power generation was recorded at 11,161 MW against the demand of 17,761 MW during the last 24 hours.The hydel generation stood at 3,760 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,366 MW and IPPs 6,035 MW.As many as 650 MW electricity was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company(KESC).Unscheduled cuts are being experienced throughout the country in varying durations.
