Summary The power generation by the IPPs has again reduced due to decrease in oil supply.
The urban areas are facing 10 hours loadshedding and it is being carried out up to 14 hours in the rural areas. Meanwhile, unannounced loadshedding has also been started again in rural areas.Currently the electricity demand is 16, 634 megawatts while its production is 12,234 megawatts.The electric generation received from different sources includes IPPs 6,444 megawatts, thermal plants 1,804 megawatts and Hydal sources 3,986 megawatts.According to the sources, the IPPs are generating 1000 megawatts less than their capacity due to decrease in oil supply.
