Crack down against the hoarders of Punjab and Sindh continues and almost 1.2 million bags of hoarded sugar have been seized. In wholesale market, sugar sale has been stopped but in retail markets, sugar is being sold at Rs 54 per kg. Sugar is being sold at Rs 52 per kg in Sunday Bazaars; however, sugar is not being provided by trucks of Utility Stores in Sunday Bazaars. On the other hand, the Sugar Mills Association called an emergency meeting of its members to make a strategy regarding the crack down on sugar mills. According to sources, this meeting will discuss upon the issue to halt the sugar supplies to utility stores and governments sasta package.
