Electricity prices not to go up immediately: PM

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says that electricity charges will not be increased immediately and the electricity production will reach to 5,000 mega watts due to the government steps in next four years. He was talking to the media on the inauguration ceremony of 250MW Atlas Power Plant in Sheikhupura. He said that government had no affection for the former president Pervez Musharraf, adding that the army was no hurdle in way of taking action against him. He said that several big areas including Swat had been cleared of the militants. He said that at some points problems existed where the army would stay till the elimination of the militants. He said that problem of the power shortage would end in next six month after establishment of the rental power plants. He said that the opponents would take up some new issue but the government would face ever challenge. He said that the government was working on the projects to produce electricity from coil, gas and solar energy with the cooperation of private and government sector.
