Finance ministry has proposed 100 percent increase in basic salary of government employees.

Meanwhile, an increase up to 25 percent is also proposed in the current salary.According to sources, a decision has been taken to merge all ad hoc relief allowances with basic salary in the budget 2012-2013 due to which the basic salary of Grade-1 employees will increase to Rs 6,600 from Rs 4,300 while the basic salary of grade-22 will be increased from Rs 43,000 to Rs 80,000.Furthermore, a 100percent increase in the medical allowance of employees falling between grade-1 to grade-15 is also expected.An increase of 50 percent in the house rent of all employees is also recommended in the coming budget.Sources have said that finance department has forwarded the recommendations to finance ministry while federal cabinet will give final approval.
