Summary World Bank has allocated $1.8 billion for Pakistans development projects, mainly in energy sector.
Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said after holding a meeting with World Bank Vice President Isabel Guerrero that the World Bank has allocated $1.8 billion for Pakistan’s development projects, mainly in energy sector, in the current year.Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Sherry Rehman also attended the meeting during the IMF-WB annual spring gathering of economic leaders from across the world.The World Bank has also agreed to assist with financing the Dassu Dam, to be built in Kohistan area on River Indus with a 1500MW power generation capacity.
