Balochistan Excise Minister Rustam Jamali killed in Karachi

Balochistan Excise Minister Sardar Rustam Jamali was shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi, on Thursday evening. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, while strongly condemning the killing of Rustam Jamali, has ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident. According to police officials, Rustam Jamali was on his way to Gulistan-e-Jauhar when unidentified armed men opened fire at him, injuring him seriously. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. However, the culprits managed to flee. The Minister was shot on head and chest, police told. The police said it is early to say whether it was a target killing or a car snatching and could only be confirmed after the investigation. Rustam Jamali was elected as an independent member of Balochistan Assembly from Osta Muhammad. His family is politically affiliated to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). He was son of Chief of Jamali Tribe, Sardar Yar Muhammad Jamali.
