105 PCO judges directly affected by SC ruling

A landmark judgment of Supreme Court have directly affected the position of at least 105 PCO judges of apex court, High Courts and Federal Sharia Court who took oath under the controversial PCO. Following the judgment in judges case, 105 judges, including Supreme Court judges Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and M Javed Butter, will retire or revert to their respective institutions after the landmark judgment of the apex court in the judges case. The two judges will also face a reference before the Supreme Judicial Council for taking oath in disregard of a restraining order issued by a seven-judge bench of the Supreme Court moments after the declaration of emergency on November 3, 2007. The judgment will affect 12 judges of the Supreme Court, 35 of the Lahore High Court, 17 of the Sindh High Court, 6 from the Peshawar High Court, all five of the Balochistan High Court and nine of the Islamabad High Court and four from the Federal Sharia Court.
