Gojra: Clashes between 2 groups, 20 more houses torched

Tension prevailed over Toba Tek Singh tehsil of Gojra in the wake of clashes between the two groups, which claimed at least six people. Fifteen people including a DSP and TMO were injured during the clash outside railway station in Gojra tehsil. According to police, a group took out a procession. As the procession passed from the rival group area, gunshots were fired, injuring six, followed by stones hurling from both sides. The incident unleashed tension in the area and the demonstrators had blocked the road, burnt tires and set on fire two houses located in a colony in front of railway station. Rail traffic has been halted due to tense situation. The hurling of stones between the groups injured many including DSP Akbar Niazi, a gunman Khalid and TMO. Police resorted to tear-gassing to break up the crowd. Demonstrators denied negotiating with MPA Dost Muhammed Khosa and Kamran Michael whereas Dost Muhammad Khosa again invited both sides in TMA office.
