(Dunya News) – Gujranwala hosted a colourful event featuring various breeds of horses dancing to the beat of local music.
Known locally as the Ghurh Raqs Mela – the horse dance festival became the centre of attraction for many horse lovers from across the province, who came to watch horses dance on traditional music.

Horses of many breeds participated in the festival where they performed langri, tha’at, palat, and dhamal mesmerising the audience with their beautiful performances. The performances garnered much appreciation from the locals who sat in a sandy ground applauding as the horses danced to the beat of the dhol.

The competition held under the mela featured several amazing performances by the participating horses. Chaudhry Nisar Iqbal’s horse, ‘Ghulam Ali’, won the competition for its outstanding performance.
