Summary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has confirmed 478 dengue cases this year, with Peshawar and Kohat reporting the highest numbers and no deaths recorded.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - A total of 478 dengue cases have been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, according to the provincial health department.
Health officials said 2,697 suspected dengue cases have been reported at government hospitals across the province, while no deaths from the virus have been recorded so far this year.
During the past week, 620 suspected cases were reported, of which 83 were confirmed as dengue infections.
Peshawar has recorded the highest number of confirmed cases in the province, with 177 patients testing positive. Kohat follows with 151 confirmed cases.
According to health department statistics, 31 dengue cases have been reported in Bannu, 21 in Haripur and 10 in Swat.
Authorities have inspected more than 246,000 houses across the province as part of efforts to prevent dengue larvae from breeding. Dengue larvae were found at 600 locations during the inspections.
The health department also inspected more than 22,000 outdoor sites to identify potential breeding grounds. Of these, 304 locations were found positive for dengue larvae.
