Israel claims it strikes back as rockets rain down from Lebanon
The Israeli military said its fighter jets bombed a Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon, from which rockets were fired into Israel’s Upper Galilee region earlier today.
It also attacked a Hezbollah military structure in the Kafr Roman area, as well as several other areas of southern Lebanon, with artillery fire.
The Israeli military said 55 rockets in total have been fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel today. Some were intercepted and most fell into open areas, with no reported casualties.
US faces uphill battle for Gaza ceasefire push, says UN chief
UN chief Antonio Guterres urged the US to press Israel for a ceasefire in Gaza.

UNRWA worker killed amid Israeli West Bank operation
JERUSALEM (AFP) – An employee of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, was killed by a sniper in the West Bank amid ongoing Israeli military operations, the agency said Friday.
The death of the employee, Sufyan Jaber Abed Jawwad, comes after six other UNRWA staffers were killed in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday during an Israeli strike on a school-turned-shelter.

Spain hosts meeting on Israel-Palestinian two-state solution
MADRID (AFP) – Ministers from Muslim and European countries along with the European Union's foreign affairs chief gathered Friday in Madrid to discuss how to advance a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"Together, we want to identify the concrete actions that will enable us to make progress towards this objective," Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez wrote on social network X.
