Summary Kathryn Bigelow might cast Shabana Azmi as a Pakastani character in Zero Dark Thirty.
Shabana Azmi looks all set to play a prominent character in Kathryn Bigelows film Zero Dark Thirty, currently being shot in India.The film is based on the killing of Osama Bin Laden. According to reports coming in, Bigelow might cast Shabana as a Pakistani character in her film.The actress has refused to either confirm or deny the buzz, indicating that talks might still be on.Shabana is not supposed to talk about the film. Its too early to talk about anything as of now, Shabanas secretary Carol told Mail Today.Shabana was finalised for the film after Bigelows effort to cast prominent Pakistani actors in key roles failed.After failing to get permission from the Pakistan government to shoot Zero Dark Thirty, Bigelow also failed to get confirmation from any artist to work in her film.This prompted the filmmaker to approach Indian actors. Azmi is currently travelling and is busy shooting Mira Nairs The Midnight Children.She was in the Capital recently to perform her famous play Tumhari Amrita, which completed 20 years recently.Bigelows film was previously titled as Kill Bin Laden, but the Oscarwinning director of The Hurt Locker decided to change the title to Zero Dark Thirty, a military term used to define an early starting time.
