(Web Desk) - Suspects arrested in connection with the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff had also conducted reconnaissance of actor Ranbir Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area, Indian media reported on Thursday.

Mumbai Police have expanded their investigation to determine whether other Bollywood actors were also potential targets. Investigators are additionally examining an alleged arms procurement and supply network linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to Indian media reports, police told a court that the attack on Tiger Shroff was allegedly carried out at the behest of Anil Pandit, a suspected associate of the Bishnoi gang. Eight people have been arrested so far in connection with the case.

Police sources said the suspects had initially planned to target actor Salman Khan and had conducted reconnaissance of his Mumbai residence. However, they allegedly abandoned the plan after noticing police personnel stationed outside his home.

Investigators also found that the suspects had used social media posts shared by fans to learn about Shroff’s routine. The posts reportedly indicated that the actor visited a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area every Sunday, where his security was comparatively less stringent. The suspects allegedly used this information to plan the attack.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch brought three key suspects — Rehan, alias Sikka; Ritik Kurmi, alias Roshan; and Phool Singh — from Kota in Rajasthan to Mumbai for court proceedings. The court remanded all three in police custody until October 31.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan said five more people had been detained in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the alleged arms procurement and supply network.

According to police, two suspects travelled to Amritsar to obtain weapons, while two women allegedly transported the firearms to Mumbai by train and handed them over to the attackers. Another suspect allegedly remained in Mumbai to provide local assistance and logistical support.

The investigation is continuing as police examine the alleged network and whether other Bollywood personalities were also under threat.
