(Web Desk) - A clip has gone viral on X after commentator Ravi Shastri ridiculed a man in the audience at the India vs New Zealand 1st Test on October 18.

In the clip, the camera pans to an Indian fan enjoying an ice cream.

Over the clip, Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar can be heard shaming the fan for having an ice cream:

“It’s hot. You need that ice cream. He’s a big unit. Where’s the ice cream boy?

“He’s hiding it because someone from his family must have told him you shouldn’t be eating ice cream, so he’s hiding it.”

The camera then pans to the match, before returning to the fan, where both Shastri and Gavaskar continue making fun of the fan: “There he goes, out comes the cone. The ice cream is disappearing; there is only the cone left.

“That’s going through pretty quickly too!

“He is a big bloke. He’s tucking into it, it’s hot.”

On social media, netizens were shocked by the commentators’ remarks.

One X user said: “That’s not funny, Ravi Shastri, in fact, it’s disgusting!

Another said: “You don’t need to fat shame someone on live television. Just let him enjoy his ice cream man!”
