DELHI (Web Desk) – Akshay Kumar is one of the most successful actors in India.
In a recent interview, he recalled memories of his childhood and days when life was not so easy. He said he belonged to a very humble family and there were times when he had no money.
He said he spent most of his time in Delhi and later shifted to Mumbai.
“We used to have a small abode at Chandani Chowk where 24 people would sleep in one room. When we got up for exercise in the morning, we had to go over one another to move out.” He said he bought a small house in Mumbai for which he would pay Rs100 rent.
“Although we spent that part of life in penury, there was a sense of satisfaction and happiness. Today, we get depressed despite having obscene money.”
He revealed that he failed in Class 7 and had to study the whole year through to make up for the loss. “When my father came to beat me for flunking the examination, he asked me what I wanted to be. I instantly replied actor.”
