VENICE (Web desk) – Pakistan’s film 'Hum Saya' has won the international award for Best Documentary Film.
The film Hum Saya' has won the award for 'Best Short Documentary Film on Human Rights' at the Venice International Film Festival 2023.
'Hum Saya' film is presented by Pakistan’s Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) portraying stories of girls' abduction, forced marriages, and religious conversions. The short film also highlights the struggle to seek justice for affected families and to protect their daughters.
The film aims to raise awareness about women's rights and religious freedom in Pakistan. The film was screened at the University of Oxford on June 16 and will be screened at Venice (Italy) and other locations worldwide on June 23.
