Pakistani celebrities react to Ghotki train accident

LAHORE (Web Desk) – During an unfortunate incident on Monday, over 60 people were killed when a high-speed passenger train Sir Syed Express knifed through carriages of Millat Express that had derailed minutes earlier near Daharki in Sindh province.

The celebrities also mourned the tragic incident expressing grief. Many A-listers including Faysal Quraishi, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Mahira Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Hania Aamir, Kubra Khan, Asim Azhar and Feroze Khan expressed their grave grief over the incident. The actors also urged the government to have proper investigations in this regard.

Kubra Khan expressed her grief in a tweet saying, "Sending lots of prayers and strength to all those who have lost loved ones in the heartbreaking #TrainAccident in #Dharki early this morning - may the Almighty grant each one of you the strength to cope with this huge loss."

"Devastating news of the train crash. Many innocent lives lost & injured. Praying Allah gives strength to families dealing with this calamity. Responsible parties are taken to task in a manner where others not doing their jobs learn a lesson," wrote Faysal Qureshi in a Twitter post.

 "Extremely saddened to hear about the tragic train accident in Ghotki. May Allah bless the departed souls & give their families the strength to bear this loss. Expect swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers," tweeted Humayun Saeed.

“Shocked by the terrible news of train accident at Ghotki. My prayers for victims’ families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. May peace be upon them,” wrote Adnan Siddique in a twitter post.

Actress Hania Amir tweeted: “Deeply saddened by the heart breaking tragedy in Dharki this morning. Thoughts will all those who lost their loved ones and prayers for the injured. May the almighty grant you all the strength to cope.”

Mehwish Hayat demanded a probe into the accident. She tweeted: “Terrible news this morning about the horrific train crash in Ghotki. My prayers for those who have lost their lives in this tragedy. We owe it to their loved ones to fully investigate and make sure it never happens again.” 

Mahira Khan tweeted: “Awful awful news about the train accident at Ghotki. Prayers and condolences for those affected by it. I hope, pray and plead for an investigation into this incident. And the right decisions to be taken accordingly.”
