Juhi Chawla slapped with Rs4mn fine for lawsuit against 5G rollout

(Web Desk) - An Indian high court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Indian celebrity Juhi Chawla against the rollout of 5G infrastructure in India.

Besides being an actress, Juhi Chawla is also an environment activist who had contended that the 5G rollout would result in irreversible damage to the environment and “no person, animal, bird, insect, and plant on earth will be able to avoid exposure, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to radiation 10x to 100x times greater than what exists today.”

However, the Delhi high court which heard the case has thrown out the lawsuit today. The trial judge chastised the plaintiff and described the lawsuit as meant to seek publicity. The court also dismissed the suit and awarded a cost of Rs 4 million against Chawla for abuse of the court process.
