Armeena Khan raises voice against exoneration of Sahiwal case suspects

Armeena Khan said her tweet is about the travesty of justice only.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistani renowned actress, Armeena Rana Khan, disheartened by the decision of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Sahiwal encounter case, has raised her voice against the exoneration of the suspects.

"Janaan" star took to Twitter expressed about the injustice saying, “Remember the #Sahiwaal incident? Mum and dad butchered leaving behind little kids. Yeah so the murderers just walked free”.

“Please do not politicise my tweet under any circumstances. This is about the travesty of justice ONLY!” she added.

Earlier, while announcing the verdict in Sahiwal encounter case, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered to acquit six accused personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) due to lack of evidence.

In January 2019, four persons including two women were shot dead in Qadirabad area by the CTD officers, claiming to have killed four ‘terrorists’ in an intelligence based operation (IBO). Minor boy Umair, who sustained severe wounds in the incident, and his two sisters Muneeba and Hadia were also present in the car.
