Stars hit the red carpet to celebrate the 'El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie'

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The cast of the upcoming "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie" took over a Los Angeles street for a fan packed and star-studded premiere.

"I mean this whole thing is it is for our fans. You know, it is really important for me, if we were going to do a big event, to have a big fan screening. That’s why we have two theaters one for our crew, our family, our friends and then one for our fans. And this means a lot, you know, our show would not exist without our fans."
The Netflix film, which will launch globally on October 11, picks up where the television show ended in 2013. The Emmy-winning show captured audiences with its gritty plot about Walter, played by Bryan Cranston, a cancer-stricken chemistry teacher who turns to cooking methamphetamine with ex-student Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, in order to make money for his family.
Most of the cast was tight-lipped about details on the film.
"It picks up where we left off and ‘Breaking Bad’ and it follows characters backwards or forwards to explain how they got to the beginning of ‘Breaking Bad.’ So, you know, I don’t wanna lead you on, but I’m not telling you anything until it comes out. I know everyone wants spoilers and wants to know," said actor Giancarlo Esposito.
"I can tell you it’s really good. And you know what else I think, I think because I was in the show but also a fan of the show, and as a fan, this is the movie I want to see after ‘Breaking Bad.’ This is - I think that the fans - it’s exactly what they’ll want," said actress Betsy Brandt.
Creator Vince Gilligan explained that after 6 years it was time to figure out what happened to Paul’s character, Jessie.
"As the years progressed I thought to myself what exactly did happen after he broke through that fence. Maybe he got caught right around the corner by the cops, or maybe he did get away," said Gilligan.
"I thought to myself, I really want to work with Aaron Paul again. So maybe I could figure out some kind of, some kind of story to tell as a movie. As a more limited and finite story. So that’s kind of what led to all this," concluded Gilligan.
