Scarlett Johansson tops Forbes' list of highest-paid actresses
The world's ten highest-paid actresses tallied a combined $314.6 million.
LOS ANGELES (Web Desk) – Forbes has unveiled the highest paid female actors of 2019, featuring Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara and Jennifer Aniston among the top ten.
Together, the world s ten highest-paid actresses tallied a combined $314.6 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019, before fees and taxes. That s 69% more than last year s cumulative total, but still far less than the top ten actors $588.3 million.
Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson topped Forbes list of best-paid actresses for a second year earning $56 million - but is only the eighth highest paid actor overall.
The 34-year-old s income of $56m (£45.7m) lands her below seventh-placed male actor Adam Sandler. She earned $15.5m (£12.6m) more than she did in 2018, thanks largely to the success of Avengers: Endgame.
Sofia Vergara
Second place goes to Sofia Vergara, who is officially the highest paid television actress thanks to her work on Modern Family with a salary of $44.1 million.
Sofia Vergara is also the only person of colour to make this year s highest paid actresses list.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon takes third place with $35 million, followed closely behind by Nicole Kidman with $34 million.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman takes fourth place with the earning of US$34 million.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston, who earned in US$28 million rounds out the top five, followed by Kaley Cuoco.
Kaley Cuoco
US actress and producer Kaley Cuoco takes the sixth place. For her final year on The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco earned $25 million, so it ll be interesting to see where she ends up on the list next year. Big Bang may be over, but Kaley s already lined up her next live-action role, and she s voicing Harley Quinn in an animated DC series too.
Elisabeth Moss
Seventh place goes to Elisabeth Moss, who stars in The Handmaid s Tale with a salary of $24 million.
Margot Robbie
Australian actress Margot Robbie who plays in "Once upon a Time in Hollywood" is listed at number eight with $23.5 million.
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron is at number nine with an earnings of $23 million
Ellen Pompeo
The 10th place was earned by Grey s Anatomy s lead actress Ellen Pompeo with $22 million
