Shamoon Abbasi's 'Durj' to be screened at Cannes Film Festival

(Web Desk) – Shamoon Abbasi’s psyco-thriller ‘Durj’ (The Casket), based on the true events of cannibalism that took place in Pakistan is en-route for a screening at Cannes Film Festival.
One gets goose bumps, just by watching the trailer of the off-beat venture. The cinematography and the onscreen portrayal of a cannibalist certainly gives u the jeebies.

According to media reports, Shamoon has decided to release the movie worldwide in October this year; he isn’t a proponent of the release in Pakistan because of the attitude of the local distributors wanting only certain kind of masala movies, which limits creativity.

Talking with an online platform, Shamoon stated that his movie was heartily welcomed by both the international audience and the distributors, whereas in Pakistan he was faced with the disappointing reactions from the distributors.
‘Who at first said, you can t make it, later they said, no one will release it and now they say why not Pakistan,’ he added.
Shamoon Abbasi revealed that the Pakistani audience will certainly watch the movie but he’ll disclose his plans at a later date.
