Shehzad Roy gives a thumbs up to Mehwish Hayat for taking a stand
Shehzad Roy points out the dilemma of our society where women are easy targets of trolls
(Web Desk) - While mud slingers continue to hurl slurs at Mehwish Hayat besmirching her character, Shehzad Roy has spoken up in support of Mehwish Hayat.
Shehzad Roy has pointed out the dilemma of our society where women are easy targets of trolls who disgrace, disrepute, defame and tear down their character, whenever a lady is bestowed with an award for an achievement, whereas men are never subjected to this demonizing of character, this stems from gender discrimination which has been a practice in the past as well.
‘Criticism on merit is ok but its about gender discrimination.Male artists r criticised about their work & capabilities, but criticism on women equals their character assasination. We never say that a “characterless”guy won n award.Veteran female actors hav gone through this in past,’ he added.

Mehwish Hayat also thanked Shehzad Roy for his support.
‘It is so refreshing to see that sane voices still prevail. I think that this is a watershed moment. The industry needs to come together and fight this abuse that we are all subjected to. Lets make something good come from it,’ she added.
