Christian Louboutin reinvents Peshawari-style 'Imran Sandal'
The pictures of these sandals are going viral on social media.
(Web Desk) – Pakistani traditional footwear Peshawari sandal is re-introduced to the world of fashion with a name ‘Imran Sandal’ by famous French designer Christian Louboutin.
‘Imran sandals’ could very well take one’s attention towards Prime Minister Imran Khan leading many to the conjectures that they come as the designer’s homage to our premier who wears them regularly.
On the other hand, some reports have revealed that the shoes are dedicated to a close friend of Louboutin, artist Imran Qureshi.
The Imran Sandals are similar to the Peshawari chappal and feature Louboutin’s classic spikes and red soles.

Christian Louboutin is a French fashion designer whose high-end stiletto footwear incorporates shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature.
According to reports, Pakistani artist Imran Qureshi was the inspiration behind these sandals by the French designer.
Christian Louboutin is friends with the Pakistani artist who gave him the idea of creating these Peshawari sandals.
Pakistani artist Imran Qureshi has received awards such as ArtNow Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 and was Artist of the Year in 2013 by Deutsche Bank.
This is just one of many instances where ethnic designs have been copied and replicated in the West and sold for exorbitant prices. English menswear designer Sir Paul Smith found himself in hot waters in 2014 when he replicated these chappals as his own and sold them in the market for a whopping £300... and also named them ‘Robert’.
