RDB Rhythm Dhol Bass sways for peace

(Web-Desk)-Artists are known as the ambassadors of peace especially in the South Asian region where tensions mount high between the two nuclear armed nations. Music, movies and cultural exchanges play a positive role in calming down the nerves as both the nations appreciate art & music and fans exists of the artists on both sides of the border.

Regardless the political scenario artists have created a special niche in the hearts of millions beyond borders. Indian and Pakistani artists,singers, actors and actresses like Atif Aslam, Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar have made waves in Bollywood and vice versa.

Bhangra is the martial dance of Punjab which has always been played and tuned into even before the digital age. Different Bhangra singers have swung both the nations to their tunes for years. But the originators of these songs are none other than Rhythm Dhol Base commonly known as RDB, playing a mix of western and Punjabi beats.

Lahorites who are known to enjoy good food music and culture were served with a treat of RDB tunes in the chill of December. RDB started off their musical odyssey in front of their local community singing at the Gurdwaras have also collaborated with Snoop Dogg and T-Pain They won "Best Club DJ Bhangra" at the UK Asian Music Awards in 2003.The group is also seen on the Brampton Walk of Fame.

Surj the only member carrying on the legacy of RDB set the stage on fire with his enthralling tunes at a corporate event turning the suited and tie event it into a Bhangra night. He dazzled the crowd with his fancy dance moves and pinglish (Punjabi-English) spell bound and bewitched they kept on dancing to his tunes.

The Kartarpur imitative has sunked into the hearts of both sides of the Punjab.During performance of his song “Singh is King” Surj made a grand gesture by saying Singh is not the King you all are the Kings and Queens and the holding up of the fist during the song isn’t meant for aggression rather symbolizes peace and unity.

In a special message to Dunya News Surj thanked all his fans who have tuned in reiterating the message of the need for peace.

A world engulfed by wars and atrocities, where terror spikes and peace initiatives are hard to come by RDB delivered the much needed message of peace and that too in fine style.
