Lady Gaga dazzles as director Bradley Cooper wins award

‎(Reuters) - There were plenty of flashes as Lady Gaga turned out to support her co-star and director ‎Bradley Cooper, as he was honoured with the American Cinematheque Award in Beverly Hills on ‎Thursday (November 29).‎

The singer turned actress posed for pictures and chatted to the press at the prestigious event which ‎every year honors ‘‘an extraordinary artist in the entertainment industry currently making a significant ‎contribution to the Art of the Moving Picture.’’‎

Cooper who is currently winning praise for his directorial debut ‘A Star is Born’’ said when he was ‎starting out in his career there was ‘‘no way I ever thought I’d be here right here, right now.’’‎

As well as picking up the American Cinematheque prize, his film is getting plenty of awards season ‎buzz, but Cooper said he’s not thinking abiout that:‎

‎"No, not really. I’m thinking about what’s happening and I feel very relieved of what’s happening and ‎people seem to be receiving it well and I get to spend time with Sam and Lady Gaga at these Q and A’s. ‎I enjoy doing that."‎

His co-star and lead actress Lady Gaga was full of praise, speaking of what great friends she and ‎Cooper have become and the atmosphere he created on set: ‘‘He created a sanctuary of trust for ‎making art. It felt real, it was honest and he settled for nothing less and he was relentless in his pursuit ‎of the truth and it’s what we all dream of," she said.‎

Cooper joins other winners including Eddie Murphy, Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott, who have been ‎honored in the past 32 years.‎

Meanwhile the first major award season nominations the Golden Globes will be revealed on ‎December 6.‎
