2018 brings Fortune and Riches - Pakistan Film Industry Finally Revives

From 2013 to 2018, 18 movies succeeded in minting as much as 7600 million rupees.

(WebDesk/RoznamaDunya) – Pakistan Film Industry after seeing two decades of downfall, loss and disgrace began to elevate a decade back. More and more producers, directors, film makers, new actors, technicians, writers, musicians and singers made their way to the Pakistan Film Industry commonly known as Lollywood.

New ventures were announced, big investments were infused and more and more foreign qualified writers, directors and technicians equipped with latest technology found a way to strengthen their careers and made wealth to make ways to the film Industry of Pakistan from 2013 onwards.

Suffering from financial crisis for so long finally seems emerging from the catastrophic declination of the entertainment industry in Pakistan. Last three years contributed a lot in steeping the graph of luck and success for Pakistan Film Industry.

From 2013 to 2018, 18 movies made their way magnificiently to the silver screens and succeeded in fortuning as much as 7600 million rupees.


The newly established flourished and lavish Cinema Houses and Multiplexes equipped with latest technology specifically playing the most substantial part in elating the business of the Showbiz Industry.

Which movie made how much money in which year?

2013

The first movie that stunned the Pakistani movie goers with the quality, technology, story, direction and production was Shaan and Ayesha Khan starrer ‘Waar’ which alone minted 23 crores in a year. ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi’ along with other movies together grossed 600 million rupees.



2014

2014 was an experimental year when films like Na Maloom Afrad, Operation 021 and Dukhtar dazzled the screen with class, concept and cementing. Among all Na Maloon Afraad was the most successful movie which alone crossed 150 million rupees where as altogether the year profited the industry with 500 million rupees.



2015

2015 was proven exceptionally successful and lucky year for the Pakistan Film Industry. Lollywood made films like Jawani Phir Nahin Aani, Bin Roye, Wrong Number, Jalibee, Manto, Moor, Karachi sy Lahore, Shah and the first ever animated and full-fledged children movie ‘3 Bahadur’.


2015 was proven exceptionally successful and lucky year for the Pakistan Film Industry.


The movie released that year, had attracted the maximum number of Pakistani movie viewers in the history. Jawani Phir Nahin Aani became the most grossing movie ever in the history of Pakistan with minting a sum of 500 million rupees. Pakistan film Industry business this year surged up to 1500 million rupees.



2016

1500 million business of 2013 soared to 1800 million rupees with the release like Actor in law, Janaan, Ho Mann Jahan, Bchana, Lahore se Agy, Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai, Malik, Jeewan Hathi and sequel of the animated movie 3Bahadur – The Revenge of Baba Balaam. Janaan and Actor In Law together minted more than 750 million rupees.


1500 million business of 2013 soared to 1800 million rupees



2017

2017 relatively went less richy rich than it was in 2016. A total of 10 movies were released. Most successful of the year which broke the record of Jawani Phir Nahin Aani was another Humayun Saeed starrer Punjab Nahin Jaungi grossed more than 520 million rupees and becomes the movie lasts in Cinemas for more than a year in recent history of Pakistan Film Industry. Other movies that were released and made good fortunes were Na Maloom Afraad 2, MehrunNisa V Lub U, Yalghar, Verna, Rangreza, Ballu Mahi, Chalay Thay Sath, Arth and others which even made good business overseas.

2018

2018 becomes the most successful year in the recent history of Pakistan Film Industry with minting a sum of 2080 million so far with releases like Saat Din Mohabbat In, Parchi, Cake Azadi, Wajood, Man Jao Na, Na Band Na Barati, Motor Cycle Girl and most grossing and still running successfully and house packed nation and world wide - among all are Jawani Phir Nahin Aani 2, Load Wedding, Parwaz Hai Junoon, Teefa in Trouble and another animated movie Allah Yar and markhor.

The most successful movie of the year is Jawani Phir Nahin Aani 2 which has broken all previous record of business and has so far minted 540 million in two weeks of its release followed by Teefa in Trouble, Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Load Wedding and Saat Din Mohabbat In. The movies are still running successfully and wide opens the door for movie trade.
