Summary Shafi had filed complaint against Punjab governor under Protection Against 2010.

(Web Desk) – In a major turnaround of events, singer Meesha Shafi’s appeal against Ali Zafar has been dismissed by Governor of Punjab.

Shafi had filed complaint against Punjab governor under Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.

The appeal was rejected on July-11 as the Jugni-singer wasn’t actual employee at the time of alleged harassment. Thus, case does not fall under the said act.

“The appeal has been dismissed on technical basis, which means when ombudsman cited the case to be not under the said act. Our plan is to appeal again on a competent forum and hopefully justice will prevail,” confirmed Meesha’s lawyer, Ahmed Pansota.

Meesha Shafi, one of Pakistan’s renowned celebrities, became the centre of media attention after she shared her experiences on the subject of harassment on social media in which she alleged that she had been sexually harassed by actor and musician, Ali Zafar.
