When 'Teefa In Trouble' is not in trouble but 'Teefa' is

Teefa in trouble apparently does not seem to be in trouble however, the off-screen Teefa faces so

(WebDesk) - Ever since, Ali Zafar’s starrer “Teefa in trouble’’ is released, the troubles have encircled the movie. The release of the controversial artist s movie begun when the people carried out protests outside the cinemas followed up with stern outrage on social media as well.

Though the Ali Zafar starrer movie has received a fair enough opening in fact has broken the records of any movie with such a grossing opening.

The havoc wreaked to the celebrity star Ali Zafar after the allegations of sexual harrassment levied on him, a divide of opinion in this matter is flagrantly visible. There is a group of people who are going gaga over the release of this movie while other people are strongly condemning the movie and urging others to boycott watching Teefa.

At the Premiere of Teefa on Thursday night, a fair number of members of civil society besieged the cinema in Karachi holding slogans and posters inscribed with “Boycott Teefa” and “Boycott Ali Zafar  . Later the protest reached to Lahore and other cities around the cinema theatres featuring  Teefa in Trouble .

Few days back, at the promotional event in a private restaurant, protestors blocked the way of Ali Zafar. The series of protests continued the second day in Karachi and Lahore. The protests is further taken to social media where social activists and people are trying to aware the masses about the sensitivity of the topic which has already become a burning issue across the globe after the world famous movement MeToo hit Pakistan. The groups are showing solidaity towards their favourite artist respectively.

The protestors firmly supporting the artist and singer Meesha Shafi after many of Zafar s colleagues and co-actors have also dared to open up about him. On the other hand, the supporters especially the female friends of Ali Zafar refused all the decry of Meesha and the other women.

Many believed Ali Zafar of being guilty and therefore they’re strongly condemning his Pakistani debut movie “Teefa in trouble”. The release of Teefa is not going smoothly and many controversies are following along the protest.

At the movie premier on Thursday, Waleed Zaman, the Creative Director of renowned clothing brand, gave a contentious statement when protestors stopped him from entering the cinema. The protestors questioned him on his participation and support to sexual harasser Ali Zafar, however, Zaman along his wife left saying that “We support sexual harassment of women’’.

This statement irked many and took the social media with storm where he was called out for making reckless comments. However, later on Zaman took social media to clarify his situation and apologized for his irresponsible remarks. The apology nevertheless, is not accepted by many people.

Amid all other controversies, the young actor and a heartthrob of Pakistani showbiz industry, Feroz Khan also showed up at premier and his interaction with protestors created another trouble. He showed middle finger to all the protestors which did not go well with the people other than the angry mob chanting slogans against the movie, actor and the audacious and insensitive behaviour of the elite and the support circle of the Teefa actor, Ali Zafar. Till now no public apology has come forth from Feroz Khan s side.

On the other hand, the film has received positive response from many. The film along with Pakistan, UAE and Britain has been released in twenty five other countries. Teefa in Trouble’’ opened up to a thunderous opening, breaking records in the country and also assembled pleasant response internationally.

Ali Zafar charmed the viewers not only with his screen presence but also garnished the movie with his melodious songs. In Berlin, the audience sitting in the cinema adored the role of Teefa and the cinema hall echoed with whistles and laughers. The movie “Teefa in trouble’’ is an outstanding movie, with an eye-grabbing plot, interesting characters and perfect cinematography according to many critics and reviewers. After the release of the movie, Ali Zafar tweeted which was harshly criticised by the twitteratis for manipulating the situation with quranic verses.

However his followers have also commented in his support under this tweet.

In the mid of whole this Meesha and Ali’s controversy many protests were lodged against Teefa, Ali Zafar which affected the movie adversely. Teefa is running well and gathered a good sum of profit however, the movie could have attracted more audience if the controversies would not have engulfed it.

Earlier in an interview given to BBC, the singer and actor Ali Zafar has gone public for the first time since his fellow singer Meesha Shafi accused him of sexual harassment.

"People will find out in time. With time everything comes out and the truth unveils itself. I, since day one, said that I will not fight this over social media as I will take the professional course and I have sought professional remedies and the due course of law shall give justice in time.", said Zafar about the allegations levied against him.

On the other hand, the female singer Shafi has re-appeared on a famous musical reality show which was supposed to showcase the Teefa artist who was earlier signed up as one of the judges for the season, was dropped off the board after Meesha Shafi’s accusation of sexual harassment on the singer.

The movie “Teefa in trouble’’ apparently does not seem to be in trouble however, the off-screen Teefa, Ali Zafar and his supporters doubtlessly faced trouble which came about as a result of harassment allegations made against Ali Zafar by Meesha. So far, actor cum singer Ali Zafar, is neither proven innocent nor guilty in this case.
