Filmmakers release motion poster of much awaited Malala biopic
The movie 'Gul Makai' is based on the life of Malala Yousafzai's struggles to promote education.
(WebDesk) – The motion poster of a biopic, based on the life of the world’s youngest Noble Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan, was released today by the filmmakers of ‘Gul Makai’.

Malala Yousafzai rose to fame after the Taliban shot her for her activities in attempt to promote education in then terror-hit Swat. The 20-year-old, however, survived the attack and went onto become one of the most celebrated social activist in the world. For her efforts she received numerous awards including the Mother Teresa Award, Sakharov Prize, United Nations Peace Prize, Shorty Award for Teen Hero and most notably the Nobel Peace Prize.

The 16-second motion poster of Malala’s biopic features female actor Reem Sheikh holding a burning book in her hand with an animated, holographic school, placed on the book, blowing up.
Directed by Amjad Khan and produced by Anand Kumar, ‘Gul Makai’ displays the struggles of Malala Yousafzai spending her childhood and teenage life in Taliban-occupied Swat as she strived to practice her basic right to education.
The clip released today, features a voiceover in the background, which says ‘This is about those days when the Taliban was destroying Pakistan and Afghanistan in the name of Jihad and religion. When from a very small village in Pakistan, a voice arose.’
Even though the ‘Gul Makai’ filmmakers are yet to announce its official release date, just the release of the motion poster, has social media buzzing with excitement.
