Using fashion, Shaan-e-Pakistan bridges borders between Pakistan and India

Karachi (Dunya News) – Despite the nonchalance between India and Pakistan, a new chapter of cultural diplomacy  Shaan-e-Pakistan  has begun between the arch rivals to bridge the borders. The night was filled with glits and glamour. Guests  list included national and international A-list designers, writers and artists from film and .T.V mediums. 

Among all the cultural and diplomatic dignitaries, the high-profile Indian High Commissioner (IHC) Ajay Basarya remained most prominent figure.  

Speaking exclusively to Dunya News correspondent, IHC Ajay Basaria said that culture has a language of its own.

“Not Indian government, it is Indian Motion Pictures Producers  Association who has imposed ban on Pakistani artists. Both countries have seen many ups and downs in their relations. Only cultural interactions is the way forward”, Basaria told Dunya News.

He spoke highly of designer Ameer Adnan who presented the then premier of India with a wonderful “Shalwar Kurta and Sherwani as a token of solidarity during his visit to Pakistan. He was optimist that visas will be soon issued to not only Pakistan’s designers but artists also.



Models including the  Hind Medium  actress Saba Qamar walked the ramp showcasing Rampal Harpreet Nirola dresses from the Bollywood magnum opus “ Padmavat”.

Speaking on the occasion, the director and producer of multi-dimensional platform Shaan-e-Pakistan Huma Nassr stated that her organization was promoting cultural links between Pakistan and India apart from enjoying the economic ties.  

The platform has previously brought famed names from India, like Anju Modi and Zeenat Aman and hopes to do the same this time around too.
