Rai was congratulated by everyone for being the first Indian actress to be the jury member at Cannes

MUMBAI (Dunya News) - Bollywood glamorous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received prestigious First Ladies Award by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Saturday evening.

Wearing beautiful embroidered Sabyasachi sari, Rai participated in the event during which she was congratulated by everyone for being the first Indian actress to be the jury member at Cannes in 2002.



According to Indian media, the Ministry of Women and Child Development selected 112 women, who have been the first to achieve a milestone in their respective fields and Aishwarya was one of them.



Being the Brand Ambassador of L’oreal, the actress is a regular at Cannes film festival.



On work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently waiting for the release of Fanne Khan while reports have also suggested that the actress will be playing role of popular singer Lata Mangeshkar in her next film.
