“My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive. He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love.”

The frontman of the band Linkin Park was found dead in his Los Angeles home. Reports later confirmed he committed suicide. The singer’s apparent suicide came on his late friend Chris Cornell’s birthday. Cornell would’ve turned 53 this year. He was the lead singer of the band, Soundgarden, and took his life in May leaving Bennington distressed. Later, he wrote an open letter to his friend.
The nu-metal singer’s band mates created a suicide prevention website with helpline for those who are in need of assistance or advice. The band Linkin Park shared the website on July 23. Fans from around the world are pouring in countless tributes to the late singer. #RIPCHESTER website states, “In case you or someone you know needs support.” The website also features suicide prevention information including contact numbers for the US services Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Crisis Text Line.
