Summary Pooja Bhatt gave her two cents on Sonu Nigam's Azaan controversy today
(Web Desk) – For Indian filmmaker and actress Pooja Bhatt, sounds of church bells and Azaan stand for the spirit of India.
In a message posted on Twitter after Sonu Nigam’s call to ban loud speakers in mosques, Bhatt said that she wakes up every morning to the sound of church bells and Azaan and for her the religious togetherness is the spirit of India.

Sonu Nigam’s tweet on Monday calling to end early morning azaan was both welcomed and criticised in the media and the public.
He stated: “God bless everyone. I m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.”

“It is not about Azaan or Aarti. It s about Loudspeaker,” the revered singer explained while responding to a tweet later that day.
On a lighter note, Sonu Sood, the ‘Dabangg’ actor complained of receiving hate messages as his name was being mistaken for the singer’s. He wrote on Twitter: "I am still wondering WHO said WHAT n to WHOM n WHO S asking me to find out WHAT happened WHERE."

India has seen controversies over statements of some of the top showbiz celebrities in the past including Shahrukh Khan. Khan s statement was once taken offence to by Hindu hardliners and his nationality was questioned. Workers had demanded off the actor to return to Pakistan and quit Indian citizenship, if he had one .
