(Web Desk) – As part of promotions for her upcoming film ‘Phillauri’, Anushka Sharma has dedicated one of her mobile phone numbers to interact with fans through video calls.
Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films have come up with an out-of-the-box promotional idea that involves Sharma video-calling her fans using a dedicated WhatsApp number, +919867473178.
In a statement given with regard to Phillauri promotions, head of marketing at Fox Star Studio, Shikha Kapur said: "The unique storyline of Phillauri where the lead actor plays a friendly spirit who cannot be seen by people, gives us the opportunity to create a campaign that is imaginative and differentiated with invisibility taking centre stage as the unique proposition... What s up with Shashi is one such idea on WhatsApp where we tap into the reach of the chatting platform in the country (160 million monthly users) and encourage engagement with Shashi in a never been done before manner."
Phillauri is directed by Anshai Lal stars Udta Punjab actor Diljit Dosanjh opposite Sharma and is scheduled for release on March 24.
IMDB writes about the film: “Set in the Phillaur district of Punjab, against the backdrop of a Punjabi marriage, this is not so much a wedding drama as a crazy, fun, romantic comedy.”
