KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – Indian movies are being aired on local cable channels despite their ban in Pakistani cinemas.

Violating orders of censor board regarding display of Mahira Khan’s debut Bollywood film, the cable operators continued screening Raees on their channels.

However, Jolly LLB and Kaabil have also been aired on cable channels. Video dealers have also illicitly released their VCD prints which are on sale at various CD shops.

On the other hand, cinema owners said that they are working for the revival of film industry in Pakistan but the screening of these Indian movies on cable is deplorable.

They said that cable operators are not taking care of national interest over their financial profit.

They also demanded Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to take action against those who violate the orders.
