Iranian filmmakers show interest in Pakistani cinema industry

KARACHI (Dunya News) – As the Indian movies remain missing in Pakistan, Iranian filmamkers has shown keen interest in the cinema industry.

Pakistan film distributors have initiated formal contacts with Iranian cultural departments for the import of their movies.

The delegation of Iranian filmmakers will soon visit Pakistan.

With the collaboration of Pakistan Film and TV journalists association, a special meeting of film trade personalities and media personalities was held in Iranian cultural centre in Karachi.

The centre’s director General Dr Muhammad Raza Baqri said that Pakistan and Iran are closer to each other in terms of culture, religion and society.

He pronounced that serious efforts are being made for Iranian films’ exhibition in Pakistan.

The meeting was also attended by Iranian cultural centre’s coordinator Najamud din Mosowi and film trade’s significant personalities including Nadeem Mandwiwala, Zulfiqar Ramzi, Mansoor Khalid, IMG’S Sabina Islam, Sikandar Iqbal, Athar Javed Sufi, Abdul Wasi Qureshi, Pervaiz Mazhar, Zeeshan Siddiqui, Mirza Iftikhar Baig, Agha Karam Ali Shah and others.
