Summary Meera had filed a plea to annul the proceedings of the second marriage case.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A local court in Lahore on Monday reserved verdict over Meera’s plea to annul the second marriage case till July 20.

During the hearing, the lawyer told the court that Meera is in Karachi whereas her alleged former husband Atiqur Rehman is out of city.

The court remarked that the verdict is to be announced in the presence of both the parties.

Meera had filed a plea to annul the proceedings of the second marriage case filed against her by Atiqur Rehman.

In the petition, the actress has adopted the stance that a case of false marriage against Atiqur Rehman is under hearing in the family court.

The plea states that the law does not permit to initiate criminal proceedings unless a family case is under hearing therefore; Atiqur Rehman’s second marriage case should be declared as null and void.

The court while reserving the verdict adjourned the hearing till July 20.

Atiq had registered a case in court alleging that Meera married one Captain Naveed while she was already in wedlock with Atiq.

After reports of a tiff between Meera and Atiq surfaced, she vehemently denied being married to him.
