Summary Censor board cancelled the movie's licence after it was prohibited from being viewed in cinemas

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Ministry of Information on Wednesday banned the viewing of Pakistani political-thriller film ‘Maalik’ in cinemas across the country, reported Dunya News.

The film was based on corruption carried out under the veil of politics in the country and was released in cinemas on April 18. Maalik was able to attract large audiences towards cinema-houses in the country however it was banned by the Information Ministry on Wednesday.

Censor board cancelled Maalik’s licence after the film was prohibited from being viewed in cinemas.

Film director Ashir Azeem stated that the film was disliked by the politicians of the country based on the sensitive issue it catered and therefore it got banned.
