(Web Desk) - Finally the Pakistani actress and model Mawra Hocane answered the Facebook message of famous actor Shan Shahid calling for a ban on her. Mawra Hocane who earlier tweeted in the favor of controversial Indian movie Phantom faced hate comments from her thousands of fans.

Phantom has become a piece of controversy in both countries before and after its release. Avoiding any negative perceptions in the hearts of nation, Lahore High Court (LHC) banned the movie on the appeal of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed as the film directly targeted his personality.

The movie focuses on an operation by an Indian agent inside Pakistan to kill the culprits behind Mumbai Attack 2008.

Leading actors in Pakistan like Hamza Ali Abbasi and Shan Shahid along with some prominent personalities strongly condemned the film and bashed actor Saif Ali Khan over his statements against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Mawra Hocane who was off to Cape Town for shooting was also criticized by some fans for working in an Indian movie despite knowing the recent reactions over Phantom. The actress tweeted in the favor of film, terming it is not anti-Pakistan but terrorism. This statement raged superstar Shan who demanded a ban on her by trending #banmawra on Facebook.

Afterwards, Mawra’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram profiles flooded with abhorrent comments launching a hate campaign against her.

Enraged actress finally responded all the aggression against her and stated that ‘a film’s content cannot challenge the dignity of my country as Pakistan is beyond a filmmakers opinion of it and it’s dignity is way more sacred for it to be questioned by a film.’

She revealed that she tweeted about Phantom without even seeing its trailer and didn’t know the sensitivity of the matter.

‘It was an instinctive reaction to a hate post in my feed and as usual I was trying to convince people not to hate "no matter what land they belonged to" (the words majorly manipulated)’, she added.

Responding to the hate campaign, she mentioned ‘I was selected on merit and on my hard work, on me being skillful and of course for the boundless love I have been receiving from a huge fan following from the age of 19. So you sir have no right to decide the fate of my career not as a person and not even as any prominent entity of the media. You dont belong to the censor association or the ban actors association’.

Prominent actors, actresses and personalities appreciated Mawra’s explanation into the matter.

Meanwhile, thousands of netizens denounced Mawra’s statements and tweeted against her.
