Summary Though youngsters trying to revamp Pakistan film industry yet production speed remains slow

LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – 2 Urdu, 3 Pashto and 20 Indian movies adorned Pakistani cinemas in the first three months of the year 2015, Daily Dunya reported on Sunday.

Although youngsters are trying to revamp Pakistan film industry and many of the senior producers and directors have also come back to the industry yet the production of movies remains slow. It is, however, true that the number of multiplexes has increased dramatically during the past few years as the Lollywood and Bollywood movies adopted modern technology.

The two Urdu movies that released during the first three months included ‘Jalaibee’ and ‘Good Morning Karachi’ while the Pashto movies included ‘Naavay Da Josh Pay’, ‘Nasha’ and ‘Toofaan’. Good Morning Karachi has been directed by Sabeeha Samar and the actors included Amina Ilyas, Rana Zafar, Amina Sheikh, Saba Hameed, Ata Yaqoob, Sawera Nadeem, Yasir Aqeel, Khalid Malik, Shaheen Khan, Farhan Ali Agha and Faisal Qureshi.

‘Jalebi’ has been directed and written by Yasir Jaswal while actors include Danish TAimoor, Ali Safina, Jaale Sarhadi, Waqar Ali Khan, Sajjad Hussain, Adnan Jafar, Aziz Jaswal and Salman Shaukat.

A new multiplex was opened in Lahore during these three months named as Luxus Grand Cinema.

Both the Urdu movies released during the first three months failed to impress the viewers. Pashto films performed better as usual. Though none of the Bollywood, movies released in the first three months of 2015, did an impressive job on the box office but ‘Roy’, ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Tewar’ performed better.

Film critics said that the filmmakers should not lose hope because of the few flop movies. They said that all the movies never work well in any part of the world but the standard of the movies must be improved.
