Mariah Carey gets Best Supporting Actress award at Capri festival

Mariah Carey arrived in style at the Capri Hollywood Film Festival accompanied by her husband Nick Cannon. It seems her acting career is looking up. The pop diva picked up the Supporting Actress of the Year award.A few hours earlier she'd spoken about her hopes for the future. But I really want to work with some great directors. I am thrilled at the possibility that perhaps that can happen. The singer-turned-actress was recognised for her role in the film Precious. The urban drama tells the story of an overweight girl in 1980s Harlem.Mariah plays the girl's welfare case worker, Mrs. Weiss. And her success in this role has made up for some earlier not-so-successful work when she won a Worst Actress award.I am so thankful that I don't have to, you know, shrug off an old movie that wasn't very helpful to me and to come back with a movie like this and something that I loved, the novel, you know, 'Push' by Sapphire which is now 'Precious'.Mariah was made to look far from glamorous in the film.But she clearly made up for it when she collected her award.
